Jesus is the Way

Jesus answered, “I am the way” John 14:6a

Imagine you’re at an airport in a foreign country, and you need to get home quickly. You have a dilemma! You don’t know what gate is going to get you on the correct plane to take you home. So, you come up with an idea. You find a stranger (who somehow can speak your lingo), and ask them what gate will take you to your home. Then they tell you that any of these gates will take you home. Really? So, you pick gate D32, and it takes you even farther away from your home. Maybe it takes you to a place a war is going on in. You learn your lesson! Not all gates take you home. Only one of those gates at the airport would get you on the correct plane to take you home. 

We have a problem similar to this in today’s world  too. Have you ever heard someone say that “you can pick your religion because there all just different paths to Heaven”? Maybe you’ve even heard people say that you can do good works to get to Heaven. No! All those are big flat lies, and Jesus says in John 14:6 that He is the way. Later in the verse, Jesus says that “no one comes to the father except through Me”. 

This means that Jesus is exclusively the only way to get to Salvation. Jesus is the only way to get to Heaven. Jesus is the way that leads to life! He is the only way. You can’t earn His approval, or work your way to Heaven because it is by grace you have been saved through faith! Jesus is the one and only gate that leads to Salvation, and life eternal! Trust Him!
